My 3D works and installations are intended to create a stage set or a sense of theatricality in the exhibition space where they are presented. As with my paintings, colour is an essential characteristic, I use these 3D pieces to infuse their settings with colour and vibrancy.
The pieces reference real-world objects, but there is always non-functional aspect to the works; wooden radiators, foam wall-paper patterns, MDF traffic lights. The contradictory use of materials is part of this dynamic.
