Michael Lacey is an artist working in collage, painting, drawing and music. His work is intricate, atmospheric and probes the boundary between fantasy and reality; consisting primarily of collaged landscapes which utilise familiar, tactile materials to create vividly unfamiliar images, mirroring the language of dreams. Lacey graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2009, and has since exhibited widely around the UK and internationally. Recent projects have included a residency with Greater Mancester City Council commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Peterloo Massacre, the album Ritual recorded for the exhibition Light Blue at the Royal Standard, co-writing the quarantine sitcom Gated Community with Laura Yuile for Collective, Edinburgh and a solo exhibition at OUTPUT Liverpool. He is currently based in Liverpool.
