"Some People on the Sunset Strip (after Ed Ruscha)"

Painting from Google Streetview scene: I like the familiar banality of this type of image. It is painted blurred and flat (ie with minimal brushstrokes evident) to distance the image's content in a manner similar to its digital source.
The individuals portrayed in the painting are taken from screenshots of the location used by Ed Ruscha in his photo panorama "Every Building on the Sunset Strip". I wanted to capture the people actually present in this location which is now so easily done online.
